The Challenge

Becoming the first port of call for every DIY explorer

Sterling Insurance have specialised in van cover for over 30 years. Now they needed to promote that legacy in a modern way. We were tasked with finding them a way to show that DIY conversions are easier and more affordable than you may think, whilst simultaneously promoting Sterling’s offerings.


The Solution

Partnering with an unlikely hero, a man of the people, the blue van man

Dave is an extraordinary creator. 52 years old and a former warehouse worker, he prides himself on being real. We had an open chat with Dave about what we wanted from this project and the work required, and he couldn’t have been keener. We commissioned a 10 part series showing every step of the conversion to appear on Dave’s channel. Taking it one step further, we negotiated the option for Sterling to edit, own and distribute a highlights reel – as well as agreeing that the Blue Van Man would takeover Sterling’s socials during the campaign to further strengthen the partnership.
